Atiyah Sylver

Artist | Activist | Arts Administrator | Vocalist

Bio

Atiyah Sylver is Senior Arts Administration major with interests in cultural outreach conducting undergraduate research on the relationship between arts and gentrification. Since receiving the Ronald E. McNair Scholarship, Atiyah has been granted the funding to actively pursue this topic and opportunities to share it. With a strong passion and foundation in visual and performance arts, Atiyah allows that realm of interests to influence how she shares her message of the disenfranchisement of black and brown peoples within our society. This she believes is her life’s purpose by advocating and uplifting them through her artistic, professional, and academic pursuits.
When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.” -African Proverb
